Tips To Maintain Hibiscus Plant And Increase Flower Growth

  • Every plant has its water tolerance. Hibiscus needs a good amount of water to grow well. However, adding too much or too less water can negatively impact overall growth and reduce flowering. Ensure that the soil has moisture. If the soil is wet, skip watering. Don't let the soil get dry completely.
  • The expert shared that it is a good idea to change the soil of the hibiscus plant every six months, this promotes flowering. Try to get nutritious soil from the nursery as it helps increase plant growth.
  • To ensure the health and growth of your hibiscus plant, keep it in air and sunlight for a few hours every day. Keep washing hibiscus leaves once every three days.
  • If you see any bugs on the plant, remove them right away. Use a pest spray if required.

  • If using a readymade fertiliser for your plant, make sure it is high in potassium and low in phosphorus since the latter can hinder the plant growth.
  • Make sure you prune your hibiscus plant regularly. Hibiscus flowers don't last for long. Once they fall, remove the pod from the stem. This will help you grow more flowers.
  • If your plant has yellow leaves, it is a sign that it lacks micronutrients like iron and magnesium. Get a fertiliser with these micronutrients and add them to the soil immediately to maintain your hibiscus plant's growth.
  • Always keep cleaning leaves that fall from the plant. This will prevent the spread of diseases.
