On August 15, 2024, India will mark its 78th Independence Day, celebrating the nation's liberation from British rule. The third phase of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which began on August 9 and runs until Independence Day, aims to honour this significant milestone. Launched in 2022 as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,' the campaign encourages citizens to proudly display the national flag at their homes.

On August 9, PM Modi called on people via X to participate in this campaign. He posted, “As Independence Day approaches, let’s once again make #HarGharTiranga a memorable mass movement. I’m updating my profile picture to celebrate our Tricolour and urge you all to do the same. Don’t forget to share your selfies on harghartiranga.com.”

If you’re interested in joining this initiative, we’ve provided a detailed guide on how to get your own Har Ghar Tiranga Certificate.

  • Hoist the flag with saffron at the top and green at the bottom; it should never be displayed upside down.
  • Ensure the flag is in good condition; do not display a torn or damaged flag.
  • The flag should be flown upright and never dipped.
  • The flag is not for decorative use and should not be used as bunting or in costumes.
  • Position the flag at a prominent height, ensuring it maintains the correct 3:2 ratio.
