If you look carefully, your watermelon has weblike spots on the outside. These spots are brown in colour and they can help you check if your watermelon is sweet. More spots mean the watermelon is sweet. 

Choose From Long And Round Watermelons

In their language, farmers differentiate the watermelons as per gender. The 'boy' watermelons are long in shape, juicy, they are more watery. The 'girl' watermelons are round in shape and are sweet. 

Pick The Right Size

Picking the right size of the watermelon is really important if you want to have a sweet and ripe one. Don't pick the smallest or the largest watermelon, go for an average size watermelon. Your watermelon should not be very heavy. 

Hear The Sound 

Knock the watermelon to hear the sound. If it gives out a deep hollow sound, it is a ripe one. Unripe or overripe watermelons will have a dull sound.
