History Of Holi

The roots of the Holi (holi outfit inspired by surbhi chandna) festival can be traced back to ancient Hindu mythology. There are several beliefs and tales associated with Holi. But the most popular one is the take of Prahlad and Holika. Prahlad was a young boy who was a devotee of Bhagwan Vishnu. However, his father Hiranyakashyap tried to kill him by making him sit in the fire along with his sister Holika, who was immune to fire. But the immense devotion of Prahlad ensured the divine intervention of Lord Vishnu led to Holika’s destruction in the fire and saved Prahlad. Thus, the victory is celebrated with colours after the Holika Dahan. However, in places like Mathura and Vrindavan, the Holi is a celebration of love between Radha and Krishna.
