The Indian fictional character Stree, a spirit who abducts men in the dark, seems to be coming to life in Rotherham, England, where a doll has gained notoriety for attacking 17 men. Believed to be haunted by the spirit of a jilted bride named Elizabeth, the doll has been dubbed the ‘world’s most haunted doll’. The eerie figure, now housed in the Haunted Objects Museum in Rotherham, South Yorkshire is said to have left some male victims with physical injuries.

The evil entity Elizabeth has been receiving attention due to the chilling claims of violent encounters with men. The doll has caused physical harm to several male visitors in the museum. According to the New York Post, an off-duty police officer and ghost hunter, Steer, claims to have been burned on the neck and got scratches on his back in the shape of a pentagram while investigating the museum’s bridal doll room. ‘It seems like the doll has a hatred towards men. There have been well over 15 people who have come to me to say they have been scratched.’. “It is all men and never a woman that it has attacked,’ said Steer. His wife, Sarah Carter claims to have experienced discomfort caused by the doll’s presence.

Elizabeth’s violent acts toward males aren’t the only aspect that stirs fear. The doll has been reported to cause incidents that will bring chills down your spine. From causing fire alarms to moving stuff around and even throwing a perfume bottle across the room, the evil doll has repeatedly made her spooky presence felt. Steer, in one of the paranormal investigations, said that the doll caused electronic interference where, on video, ‘bride’ and ‘haunting’ kept repeating.

Evil Doll Elizabeth’s Past

While the exact reasons for Elizabeth’s behaviour remain unknown, theories suggest that the doll might have a troubled past. Steer himself suggests that Elizabeth might have been wronged by a man or have gone through a disastrous wedding. Other theories suggest that the doll might be acting out in jealousy as the museum has recently acquired the infamous Annabelle doll from the film series The Conjuring, which is also reputed to haunt.
