Popular rapper and singer of K-pop group Blackpink, Jennie joined the Weeknd’s upcoming HBO drama series The Idol alongside Lily-Rose Depp. The first teaser was released by the network where fans spotted Jennie playing a background dancer in the video. With a behind-the-scenes photo, HBO officially announced on the 18th of July that the K-pop singer is a part of the cast.
Debut
This project marks Jennie’s Hollywood debut. Actually, this is the first time that she will be acting on-screen. While she is a great performer and a natural in front of the camera, this would be the first she’ll be acting.

"I feel very excited. I'll work hard, so please watch me with affection,” she added.
Jennie’s part in the series was confirmed by HBO via Twitter with a BTS photo. The caption said, “Jennie Kim has been cast in #THEIDOL.”
After this, she herself confirmed her addition to the cast without much information about her role or character in the show.
