Black Panther 2 Is A Hit In India, Overtakes Films Like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 At BO

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the newest film from Marvel Studios, was released on Friday and is doing well at the box office. The movie was eagerly awaited, and the early teasers and trailers generated massive excitement among the fans.

On the first day of its release, the film collected ₹15.05 crore in Indian cinemas. In three days, the film collected ₹50 crores.

It crossed the opening day collection of several recent Bollywood films including Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which was one of the biggest hits of Bollywood in 2022. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's collection on the first day was around ₹14 crores.

However, Black Panther 2 is still behind other Marvel movies released this year, including Doctor Strange 2, which collected around ₹28 crores on the first day, and Thor: Love and Thunder, which collected ₹18 crores approximately on the first day.

Along with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Amitabh Bachchan's Uunchai and the Samantha-led Yashoda were released on Friday. Uunchai earned over ₹1.81 crores in India at the box office on its opening day, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Yashoda reportedly collected ₹3 crore nett across India.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever managed to earn $58.8 million worldwide, according to a report by Deadline.

About The Film

The release of Black Panther 2 marks the wrap-up of Phase four of the MCU. It stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, and Danny Sapani.

It is written and directed by Ryan Coogler.

The film paid tribute to late actor Chadwick Boseman, who played King T’Challa aka Black Panther, in the first film. The film focuses on the people of Wakanda protecting their nation against a new threat while still grieving the loss of their late king.

Late actor Chadwick Boseman played the role of T'Challa in the 2018 movie Black Panther. He died on August 28, 2020, following a secret battle with colon cancer, at the age of 43.
