The latest episode of the 16th season of Bigg Boss began with a tiff between Shiv Thakare and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia. It led to one of the most melodramatic outburst of the day began with Ahluwalia's hunt for the share of the rice that went missing. She teamed up with captain Gautam Singh Vig and the duo rummaged other bedrooms for the rice, only to find that it had been in her bedroom all along. Shiv Thakare reasoned with her and shared that she owed an apology to those who felt insulted and accused. This did not sit well with Ahluwalia and she exploded into a fight.

Meanwhile, nothing escapes the eye of the master of the house in Bigg Boss 16. He noticed that the two contestants, who seemed to have feelings for each other, Tina Datta and Shalin Bhanot are drifting apart. Curious to know their equation, Bigg Boss invited them for a tête-à-tête in the confession room and the duo spills their take on the dynamics of their relationship and the bias they have spotted in the house. Bigg Boss asked the duo’s take on Vig’s decision that affected them and Datta replied that she thinks Vig cannot stand by his friends when time comes. However, the dup patched up following the session.
Reeling from all the scoop, the entire house meandered into excitement as Bigg Boss brought a unique captaincy challenge this time. It began with Bigg Boss firing Vig from captaincy owing to his cowardice, incompetence, and lack of spine. Thakare and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary were elected as contenders for captaincy through contestants' votes. Following which, a captaincy battle took place which involved contenders stacking bricks like dominoes, and the one with the longest stack would win. The twist was that the rest of the contestants can sabotage the stack of contenders without touching them. The thrill of the new reign of captaincy stirred a huge fight between contestants Archana Gautam and Ahluwalia. The former supported Chahar while the latter supported Thakare.

Thakare won the task and became the house captain and on the same day got into a tiff with Datta as well.

Meanwhile, Sumbul Touqeer, who maintained her friendship with Bhanot despite her father’s reality check, got upset with the latter. During the captaincy task, when Bigg Boss wanted names for the contenders, Bhanot took Thakare and Datta’s name while Touqeer expected him to take hers. Later, she told Ahluwalia how she is angry on herself for maintaining friendship with Bhanot despite her father’s warning.
