Bigg Boss 13 Rerun Fails To Entertain Fans, Pulled Off Air Amid Lockdown, Here’s Why

Due to the current pandemic of the novel coronavirus, the shoots of all the films and television shows have been cancelled. Due to this, the channels and production houses decided to run their old famous shows. While some of them are garnering love, appreciation and great traffic, much popular reality show, Bigg Boss 13 failed to impress its fan. The show which kept people gripped to their screen, has turned out to be a flop show during its rerun amid the lockdown. This has made Colors TV pulled the reality show Bigg Boss season 13 off-air.

As every season turns out to be more interesting than the earlier one. The 13th season was one of the most-watched shows last year with nasty fights, awe-worthy love stories and engaging controversies than ever before. According to the media reports, the reruns were to commence from March 23 at 10 pm. unfortunately, the show happened to discontinue from April 13.

Instead of Bigg Boss 13, the channel will now run Dance Deewane Season 1. A leading media house reported that a source told them that, “Bigg Boss 13 had enjoyed massive viewership a few months ago and hence was brought back, but things haven’t been the same this time around. Viewers’ preferences keep changing and given the current situation, the channel would like to understand want to audiences want to really watch. They aired Bigg Boss as an experiment and the coming weeks will see many old shows returning including ‘Balika Vadhu, which went on air on April 13.”

Other than this there have been reports about the fans of Bigg Boss 13 admitting that watching the show where people are locked in a house reminds them of their own situation currently. The concept of Bigg Boss is putting some celebrities in a house together. They are not allowed to leave the house and have to do all the chores themselves, including cooking, washing, cleaning, etc. Given the current times, people are more or less in the same situations at their home.

A few Twitter users suggested that “the channel is not giving the audience what they want, instead of delivering something gripping, they want us to watch something that we already know.” Another Twitterati said, “Please no Bigg Boss.”

Besides all this, there are a few shows on other channels that are entertaining audiences for the fullest. The concept was started by Doordarshan that started a rerun of its old 80s and 90s show such as Ramayan and Mahabharata to cash in on nostalgia amid the lockdown. The idea has made DD the most-watched channel and set the TRPs soaring.
