Bholaa Teaser: Ajay Devgn Starrer Is A Hindi Remake Of Tamil Hit Kaithi

The gripping teaser of the upcoming Hindi film Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, dropped on November 22. The film began trending even before the teaser was dropped when Devgn unveiled its first motion poster a day before, captioned, “KAUN HAI WOH?

The teaser begins in an orphanage named Saraswati, where a little girl is asked to sleep early that night and wake up early next morning because someone is coming to meet her. The girl doesn’t sleep the entire night and counts the number of members in a family who might come to meet her. The next scene cuts to a jail where a prisoner, presumably Devgn, is seen reading the Bhagavad Gita. It is announced that he is being released from prison that day. Then he is shown walking across the jail hall, taking ash in his hand and rubbing it on his forehead. A background voice asks “who is he?” and another says “no one knows who he is and where is from.” He further adds, “Ye jab bhasm lagata hai, toh na jaane kitno ko bhasm kar deta hai (When he smears ash on his forehead, “his enemies turn into ashes). As the former asks his name, the latter says, “if I tell you his name, you will fall at his feet Bholaa.”

The teaser video ends with a man on a bike attacking someone in a running car with a trishul. “Kaun hai woh... jisko pata hai, woh khud laapata hai #BholaaTeaserOutNow #BholaaIn3D /bit.ly/BholaaTeaser #Tabu @ADFFilms” captioned Devgn while sharing the teaser.

Bholaa marks Devgn and Tabu’s eighth collaboration after Vijaypath (1994), Haqeeqat (1995), Thakshak (1999), Drishyam (2015), Golmaal Again (2017), De De Pyaar De (2019) and Drishyam 2 (2022).

The upcoming film is the Hindi remake of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directed 2019 Tamil hit action thriller Kaithi that stars Karthi in the lead role. The film also featured Narain, Arjun Das, Harish Uthaman, George Maryan, and Dheena in pivotal roles. The film narrates the story of a recently released prisoner, who races against time to drive multiple poisoned police officers to a hospital in exchange for meeting his daughter as he evades criminals chasing him. The film, which has no songs at all, was reportedly shot entirely at night without a single day shot. The film went on to collect ₹110 crore approximately.
