Baryl Vannaisangi recently won the Mizoram assembly election from the Aizawl South-III constituency which helped her to become the youngest woman MLA in the Mizoram state. Baryl Vannaisangi is a member of Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), she defeated F Lalnunmawia, the candidate of the Mizo National Front (MNF), with 9,370 votes overall in the recent Mizoram elections, according to ECI. Who Is Baryl Vannaisangi?
Baryl Vanneihsangi is the youngest MLA in the Mizoram assembly. She is 32 years old. She won the Mizoram assembly election from the Aizawl South-III constituency. She is a member of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM).
She is very popular on social media and has 256K followers on Instagram.
Baryl Vannaisangi Education
Baryl Vannaisangi received a master's degree in Arts from the North Eastern Hill University in Shillong.
According to the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, Baryl was a corporator in the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) before being elected as an MLA.
Baryl Vannaisangi Career
Before turning her career to politics, she worked as a radio jockey and TV host. She moved from radio in 2015 after working as a TV presenter for a local news station in digital media. In an interview with India Today, she stated that she wants to change the education system in the state.

After winning the election, Vanneihsangi inspired women to follow their passions with a message of empowerment (Women Empowerment Schemes). Speaking to ANI, she said, "I just wanted to let all the females know that even if we're a female, it doesn't mean that this has to stop us from doing something that we like and we are passionate about. I would like to encourage, and also I would like to tell, send a message to all the females in any community and society that if you wanna go for it, then you can go for it. This is the victory of the people."

For the first time in its history, Mizoram has elected many female MLAs. There were just 16 women among the 174 candidates running in the Mizoram election. For the first time in the state's history, three women were elected as MLAs.
