The incident, captured in a video by a woman inside the car, quickly circulated online. It occurred on Sunday evening as the occupants of the car—a man, his wife, their 1.5-year-old child, and their mother-in-law were travelling from Madiwala to Hosur. In the video, the woman expresses concern, stating, "They are tailing us, hitting the vehicle. He's trying to open the door." Meanwhile, the men persistently pursue her car, banging on its windows and attempting to force open the door. The incident unfolded near St John Hospital, gate no.5, in Bangalore, raising significant concerns about the safety of women in the city and prompting widespread outrage.

According to a report by The Financial Express, after the incident, a case was lodged at the Madiwala police station, and the individuals responsible were apprehended overnight. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru South East) CK Baba revealed that the altercation originated from a dispute regarding a flashing indicator light, which escalated into the subsequent chase.
