Ayushman Vay Vandana Card: Eligibility, Benefits for 70+, How to Apply, Download Details, And More

The Indian government launched the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card in October 2024 under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY). Who Is Eligible for the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card?

Any Indian citizen aged 70 years or older can apply for this card.

Those already enrolled under the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme will get the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card as a top-up, effectively doubling their health insurance cover. Even senior citizens with private insurance or other government health schemes can apply. However, they will need to choose between existing benefits and this new offering.

How to Apply and Download the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card

Follow these steps to register and download your card using the Ayushman App:

• Download the Ayushman App from the Google Play Store.
• Select ‘Login as beneficiary’ (or operator if applicable).
• Enter your mobile number, captcha, and choose an authentication method.
• Submit the OTP and complete login.
• Allow location access to the app.
• Enter beneficiary details, such as Aadhaar number and state.
• If not found in records, complete eKYC via OTP consent.
• Fill the declaration form and required details.
• Submit a mobile number for OTP verification.
• Enter additional information like PIN code, category, and family member details if applicable.
• Once eKYC is verified, the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card will be ready for download.

The scheme provides access to a wide range of treatments, including:

1. Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis
2. Total Knee and Hip Replacement surgeries
