Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has often proved that she is beauty with brains. One such occasion was when the former Miss World appeared on popular American television host, David Letterman’s chat show, Late Night with David Letterman. Known for her flamboyant looks and acting finesse, Aishwarya’s old video has been surfacing all over the social media these days and is also winning hearts. The reason is her witty reply to a question that the ace host asked the actress. The question was related to Indian tradition and values. But her befitting reply even left the ace anchor speechless.
She, who has is one of the most popular and celebrated stars around the world appeared on the show back in the year 2005 and talked about her first Hollywood movie, Bride and Prejudice. The video which is going viral on the social media platforms showcases Aishwarya and David. He sarcastically asks the actress if it is true that she still lives with her parents under one roof.
While Aishwarya at first gives a subtle response by saying, “yes, it is true that I live with my parents.” However, after listening to David's next question,” is it normal to live with parents even after growing up in India?” the 46-year-old star gave a humorous response and said, “ it is very common for Indians to stay with their parents because we do not have to make an appointment to meet our parents at dinner or lunch.” Aishwarya's answer left the host speechless.

Clad in a maroon leather jacket, black skirt, and boots, the actress also talked about herself and the Indian film industry. When asked about what languages she can speak, the actress said she could speak around four languages. “Hindi, Marathi, my mother tongue Tulu and broken Tamil as well,” said Aishwarya. Surprised with her response, David said, “wow, it’s just crazy because here in the United States we only speak English and you speak around half a dozen languages.”

Talking about the diversity of India, the actress explained the host about Indian languages and its culture. “It is because in India we have got more number of languages than the states we have. We have got plenty of languages in India,” said Devdas star. Aishwarya is the only Indian superstar who has appeared on famous David Letterman’s show. Last year in 2019, Shah Rukh Khan made an appearance on a special episode with popular American TV host David Letterman.

The actor also took to Twitter to share the trailer of the show, that has previously hosted Malala Yousafzai, Barack Obama and George Clooney. "The most fun I've had being interviewed. Thank u so much @Letterman for being so gracious and all happiness. U r a gentleman, sir! Also @netflix & @NetflixIndia for having me over at NY," he wrote alongside the video.
