Satiate Midnight Cravings: Try Gurgaon's Top Eateries For Late-Night Binge Eating

The Haryana government has allowed all restaurants across the state to stay open round the clock. This decision of letting the eateries function 24x7 was announced on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 by Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala post he chaired a meeting of the multiple departments.

Deputy CM Chautala confirmed the decision and said that there will be zero restrictions on restaurants in relation to remaining closed at night. This makes Haryana the only state in northern India where restaurants have been given permission to operate at all hours during the day.

As per reports Deputy CM Chautala has said, “permission to operate 24×7 is solely for serving food items and not on sale of liquor”. He further added, “Keeping in mind the convenience of restaurants and the general public, the restaurant owners of the state who want to keep their restaurants open for 24 hours, can keep them open from now on. No one can force them to shut down, but they will have to register with the Labour Department and follow other terms and conditions (Section 9 and 10 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958).”

The restaurant unions’ office bearers from across the state recently met Chautala and demanded that the state government allow them to keep their establishments open twenty four hours so that people can get food at their convenience.
