1. Wash and soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes.
2. In a heavy-bottomed pan, boil milk and add the soaked rice. Simmer on low heat and stir occasionally to prevent lumps.
3. Add sugar and let it dissolve completely. And cook it till the rice gets cooked properly and the kheer thickens.
4. Add a pinch of saffron (Drink A Glass Of Saffron Or Kesar Water Everyday For These Benefits) and cardamom powder to it and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes and turn off the stove.
5. Garnish the kheer with chopped almonds and cashews. You can serve this kheer warm or chilled.
