Ingredients

  • 2 cups poha
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • 1-2 sprigs curry leaves
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • oil for cooking
  • salt to taste
  • water as required
  • coriander leaves for garnishing

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Begin with washing poha 2-3 times. Strain and let is dry for around 10 minutes.

  • Step 2 :

    Take a kadai and add 2 tablespoons oil. Add peanuts cook for 1-2 minute over low flame. Transfer to a plate.

  • Step 3 :

    Next add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When seeds sputter, add chana dal and urad dal. Sprinkle asafoetida and add curry leaves. Cook well.

  • Step 4 :

    Add chopped onion, ginger and chopped green chillies. Sauté.

  • Step 5 :

    Now add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  • Step 6 :

    Add poha and mix well. Cook for 1 minute. Also add peanuts.

  • Step 7 :

    Transfer to a plate and garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy with hot tea or coffee.
