However, you can add more ingredients like makhana and certain dried fruits like cashew nuts (kaju) and figs (anjeer) or replace sugar with jaggery.

Panchamrit Recipe For Janmashtami 2024

Here is an easy Panchamrit recipe for Janmashtami 2024 to offer Lord Krishna:

  1. Start by taking a silver or brass utensil to make your Panchamrit. Both metals help boost immunity. 
  2. Add 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon curd, 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter), depending on your preference, and 7 to 8 tablespoons milk.
  3. Take a spoon and mix them properly until every ingredient has been completely combined. 
  4. Your Panchamrit is ready to serve. 
  5. Offer the sweet recipe to Lord Krishna and serve it to devotees to help them gain his blessings. 

Panchamrit Significance

Panchamrit is an Ayurvedic drink traditionally prepared and offered during puja ceremonies or religious activities. As the name suggests, it is a combination of five basic ingredients including sugar (or jaggery), honey, curd, milk, and ghee. 

Panchamrit holds a profound spiritual significance due to which it is offered on Hindu and Jain religious occasions. Not only Janmashtami, but you can also offer Panchamrit to Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga, and Lord Ganesha on various occasions. The most significant ingredient in this recipe, i.e. milk is considered of the highest purity. It is recommended to especially use cow milk for enhanced purity.
