Ingredients

  • 1 cup Moringa lentils
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon moringa powder or 1/4 cup fresh moringa leaves
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or ghee

  • Step 1 :

    Rinse one cup of lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  • Step 2 :

    Heat two tablespoons of oil or ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add a chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add two minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.

  • Step 3 :

    Add ground cumin, coriander, and turmeric to the pan and cook for a minute or two. Stir in the Moringa powder or fresh Moringa leaves.

  • Step 4 :

    Add the lentils and water to the pan, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.
