  • 1 kg prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspcumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Refined oil for frying

How To Make Prawn Koliwada:

1. In a mixing bowl marinate the prawns with ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, lemon juice and salt. Set it aside for 15-20 mins.

2. In another bowl, mix the gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, and a little salt (add cautiously as you have already added it in marinade). Add water to make a thick batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the prawns.

3. Add the marinated prawns to this mix and coat them well. Make sure each prawn is coated in the batter.

4. Heat some oil in a deep pan and fry the prawns on medium flame till they turn golden brown.

5. Remove the fried prawns carefully and place them on a tissue paper to absorb the excess oil.

5. Serve hot with a squeeze of lime juice on it. Garnish Prawn Koliwada with coriander leaves and serve it hot with mint chutney and tomato chutney.
