Egg roll is a popular street food that we all love to devour. But there are times when you can’t eat eggs. However, that doesn't mean you can’t have egg rolls. We have got you a recipe for a street-style egg roll without eggs that will satisfy your cravings.
Egg Rolls are deep-fried rolls wrapped with thin wheat flour wrapper dipped in egg and filled with green vegetables. It is a popular street food served with different sauces.
An egg roll without an egg is simply a vegetarian egg roll. It has lots of green vegetables and sauces to enhance its taste. Here is the step-by-step recipe to prepare egg rolls without eggs:
Step 1: Wash all the green vegetables thoroughly including onion, carrot cabbage, and green chillies.
Step 2: Place them on the vegetable cutter and chop them finely.
Step 3: Take a large bowl and put all the chopped veggies inside it.
Step 4: Add sauces like tomato ketchup and green chilli sauce in the bowl and mix all of them properly. Cover and keep the bowl aside.
Step 5: Now again take a separate large bowl and add beans (gram flour), coriander leaves, red chilli powder, baking soda, salt and pepper into it. Add water slowly to make a thick consistency.
Step 6: Take a pan and add butter/oil to it.
Step 7: Once the butter is heated enough, pour the ladle full of the besan mixture into the pan and spread it evenly.
Step 8: Let it cook for a while. Once the one side is cooked enough, flip it on the other side and let it cook for a while.
Step 9: Once both sides are cooked properly, turn off the heat. Keep this eggless omelette on a plate
Step 10: To the same pan, heat the chapatis by flipping them over. Apply butter on both sides of the chapatis.
Step 11: Now assemble the roll with eggless omelette, vegetable mixture and chapatis together in the form of a roll. You can top it up with sauces if required.
Step 12: Serve it Hot.
