Have you bought a batch of mangoes but after coming back you find that they are raw? Well, they can easily be ripened in the comfort of your home with very simple and easy tricks. These tricks will naturally ripen all the raw fruits you buy and will make them suitable to consume. Read on to know how you can ripen fruits such as banana, peach, mango and many more.
Banana

Raw bananas not only taste bland but also aren’t good for the stomach. If you have bought a bunch of bananas (banana bread recipe) which are still green or raw, all you need is a newspaper. Just wrap your bunch in a newspaper and set it aside. Within 1-2 days, you’ll see your bananas turning yellow and will be perfect to eat. You can also put your bananas into a brown paper bag and seal its mouth with a tape or pins. You can either judge their ripening process through their peel colour or through their softness.
The basic concept behind this is the property of ethylene. It is a natural gas responsible for ripening which is released by fruits. Sealing fruits in a closed space helps in concentration of ethylene and fastens the process of ripening.

Apple
The best way to ripen your apples is by leaving them in the open. If your apples are sour or raw, keep them in a basket and place them in your backyard. Make sure they receive enough air and sunlight. The warmth will speed up the ripening process and will give you perfect apples within 2-3 days. The natural sunlight and warmth since it will speed up the production of ethylene gas, thus helping the apples (apples for weight loss) in their maturing process.
Mango

Mangos during summers are irresistable, but what to do if they turn out to be unripe? The easiest way to ripen raw mangoes (mango recipes) within a few hours will require just a bag of rice. Wash your mangoes thoroughly and wipe all the moisture away. Now store them in a bag or container of rice. Make sure the mangoes are totally covered with rice and cover the lid of your container. This trick works like wonder and will ripen your mangoes within 6 to 12 hours. Make sure you check every 4-5 hours to ensure that your mangoes don’t get ripened more than required.

Peach

To ripen peaches, take a cotton or linen cloth. Make sure the fabric is soft, thin and breathable, in order to prevent the moisture from building up. Lay a piece of the cloth and spread your peaches on it. Peaches usually have delicate skin, that’s why make sure they don’t touch each other. Now place another cloth of the same fabric on top. Secure the sides to cut off any fresh air. This process will not only ripen the peaches but will also leave them smelling sweet and fruity. This trick can also be used to ripen pears, plums, blueberries and even tomatoes.
Watermelon
Have cut open a watermelon and it turned out to be raw? Worry no more, as this trick will help you solve the issue. Just dice your watermelon like always and store it in a bowl. Now close the lid of the container and keep it in the refrigerator. Within a day or two, the watermelon (watermelon toner for skin) will not only be perfect for consumption but will also become sweeter.
On the other hand, if you want to stop your uncut fruits from ripening, you can store them in your refrigerator. This process will prevent them from rotting for at least 2-3 days.
