Often, children do not eat their tiffin and instead bring it back home saying it is boring and bland. What children love is having stuff that is heavy on the flavour profile. However, a lot of times, this translates to something unhealthy. Thinking what to give for your children's tiffin? Have you ever wondered what to give your children that is both tasty and healthy? Corns and potatoes are one such option. Not only both ingredients are a storehouse of health properties, but adding a bit of chaat masala and spices could just make them a must have for your kids.
Ingredients
- Sweet corn - 1 cup
- Potato - 1 cup
- Tomato-2
- Ginger Paste - 1 table spoon
- Turmeric powder - ½ table spoon
- Cumin powder - 1 table spoon
- Coriander Powder - 1 table spoon
- Red Chilli Powder - 1 table spoon
- Maggi Masala- 1 packet
- Asafoetida- 1 pinch
- Green chili- 2
- Lemon-½
- Green Coriander - 3 table spoons
- Oil - 3 table spoons
- Salt - according to taste
Method
- First, wash the potatoes well and boil them with water in the pressure cooker. You may buy pressure cooker at a discounted price of ₹ 639 from here.
- Wash the tomatoes and cut them finely.
- Now, pour oil in a pan and let it warm.
- When the oil becomes hot, add cumin powder and fry on low flame. (Buy organic cumin powder from here at ₹ 310)
- Now add green chillies, asafoetida, ginger paste, and fry them slightly.
- Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, and red chilli powder to taste and cook tomatoes. (Buy a pack of two Healthy Puro Salt from here at ₹ 194)
- When the tomatoes are well mashed, add sweet corn, potatoes and mix well and cover and let it cook on low flame for five minutes.
- Five minutes later, stir it a little on high flame. Now add the Maggi masala and mix it.
- Add little green coriander and lemon juice and mix it well.
Your corn potato masala chaat is ready. Garnish with a bit of green coriander on top.
