How To Make Badam Sheera

Badam Sheera

1. Soak the almonds in water for at least 8 hours, or overnight. Drain the almonds and peel them.

2. In a blender, grind the almonds and 1/2 cup milk to a smooth paste.

3. Heat the ghee in a broad non-stick pan over medium heat.

4. Add the almond paste and cook for 4 minutes, stirring continuously.

5. Add the remaining milk and cook for 2 minutes, stirring continuously.

6. Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron-milk mixture. Stir to combine.

7. Cook for another 2 minutes, or until the mixture turns golden brown in colour.

8. Serve warm with some chopped nuts and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup blanched almonds
  • 1-2 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped nuts
  • A few saffron strands

Step

  1. Step 1:

    First, soak the almonds for at least 8 hours to be blanched. Peel them after draining and cleaning them with cold water.

  2. Step 2:

    To get a smooth paste, add 1/2 cup of milk and whisk in a mixer.

  3. Step 3:

    Now heat the ghee in a medium nonstick pan. Add the almond paste and combine well. Cook over a medium temperature, stirring constantly, for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the almond paste turns light pink.

  4. Step 4:

    Stir well, then add the remaining cup of milk and half of the water. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes while continuously stirring.

  5. Step 5:

    Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron mixture and stir continuously for 6 to 7 minutes at a medium temperature, or until the sugar dissolves and the ghee separates. Set aside to gently cool.

  6. Step 6:

    Garnish with chopped nuts and serve it warm.
