Ajith Kumar’s latest Tamil action thriller, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’, has hit a few bumps on its journey to box-office success. Released on February 6, 2025, the film, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions, features a star-studded cast including Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, and Arav. Despite the high expectations surrounding the project, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ is finding it tough to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark, though it has managed to cross the Rs 70 crore milestone in its first eight days.

Vidaamuyarchi Box Office Collection Day 8
According to reports from Sacnilk, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ had a strong opening day, raking in Rs 26 crore, with Rs 25.5 crore coming from Tamil Nadu and Rs 0.5 crore from Telugu-speaking regions. However, the film saw a steep 60.58% drop on its second day, earning just Rs 10.25 crore. The weekend brought a slight recovery, with collections rising to Rs 13.5 crore on Saturday and holding steady at Rs 12.5 crore on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the weekdays told a different story. Monday’s earnings plummeted by 74.40%, bringing in only Rs 3.2 crore. Tuesday saw a minor uptick to Rs 3.35 crore, but Wednesday’s numbers dipped again to Rs 2.28 crore. By the eighth day, the film’s collections had dwindled to a mere Rs 0.04 crore, signalling a significant drop in audience interest. As of now, the film’s total collection stands at Rs 71.12 crore.

Vidaamuyarchi Plot
‘Vidaamuyarchi’ follows the story of Arjun, played by Ajith Kumar, a Chennai native who falls in love with Kayal (Trisha Krishnan) during a vacation. Their marriage and life in Baku take a dramatic turn when personal conflicts arise. The plot thickens when Kayal finds herself in danger during what was supposed to be a final trip together, forcing Arjun to embark on a mission to save her.
