After the success of ‘Stree’, ‘Stree 2’, ‘Munjya’ and ‘Bhediya’, Maddock Films is gearing up for its next big release, ‘Thama’. The horror-comedy, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan along with Amar Kaushik, will release in theatres during Diwali 2025.
Touted as a ‘bloody love story,’ the film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. It also features Faisal Malik and Geeta Agrawal, while Malaika Arora makes a special appearance. Adding to the excitement, Varun Dhawan’s werewolf character from 'Bhediya' will make a cameo appearance, connecting the film to Maddock’s shared horror-comedy universe.

The teaser of Thama, unveiled on 19 August, opens with Ayushmann Khurrana’s haunting voiceover: “Reh paogi mere bina, sau saalon tak?” To which Rashmika replies, “Sau saal kya, ek pal bhi ke liye bhi nahi?”
This mysterious exchange sets the stage for a supernatural love story with a vampire twist. Maddock Films shared the teaser online with the caption:
“Na darr kabhi itna shaktishaali tha, aur na pyaar kabhi itna BLOODY! Brace yourself this Diwali to witness the first love story in the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe.”
