The trailer was released by the producers and the actor herself on Monday, August 7, 2023. It throws light on the life and challenges of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant and her courageous gender transformation from being a man to adopting the third gender medically. The trailer also gives us a sneak peek into Sawant’s journey towards motherhood and a battle for the inclusion and acknowledgement of the third gender in India.

Sushmita Sen Wins Big In ‘Taali’ Trailer

The Bollywood actor has the most charismatic and powerful screen persona that keeps the viewers glued from the first frame of the trailer. It almost forces the audience to view the most challenging circumstances in the protagonist’s life with a touch of human empathy. Sushmita delivers a fierce performance stepping into the role of ‘Shreegauri Sawant’ and takes all the hurdles in her path in her stride. The portrayal is absolutely flawless as she etches Sawant’s journey right from expressing an urge to be a mother when in school to the remarkable physical transformation she underwent to transform from ‘Ganesh’ into ‘Gauri’ and onward to finally being accepted by the transgender community and taking the fight to the Supreme Court of India.
