Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handles to announce the release date of Son of Sardaar 2. In the post, he has also attached a photo of a flying clapperboard, implying that the shooting schedule is still on.

To recall, the team went on the floors in August 2024. The first shooting leg was in London, glimpses of which Devgn shared on social media. In the clip, we see the lead actor visiting a gurdwara where the priest announces the filming commencement of Son of Sardaar 2.

The following frames show the movie's director, Vijay Kumar Arora, calling the shots while the female lead, Mrunal Thakur, and Chunky Pandey shoot a Punjabi dance sequence.The caption associated with the post read, “The journey of #SonOfSardaar2 begins with prayers, blessings, and an amazing team.”

Dutt was also supposed to join the team for the UK shooting schedule, but authorities did not approve his visa. At the time, reports suggested Laapataa Ladies actor Ravi Kishan had replaced him, but Dutt clarified that he is still a part of the film. Since he could not make it to the UK, Kishan's portions were shot in London instead of his.

Now, since Son of Sardaar 2 will reportedly be about gang wars between Punjabi and Bihari dons, Kishan's inclusion into the cast makes a lot of sense.

Son of Sardaar 2: Cast And Other Details

Produced by Devgn Films and Jio Studios, Son of Sardaar 2 comes 13 years after the prequel. News has it the film won't be a direct sequel to Son of Sardaar (2012) but will have a few overlapping characters, like Jaswinder "Jassi" Singh Randhawa (Devgn) and possibly Balwinder "Billu" Singh Sandhu (Dutt).

Apart from Devgn, Dutt, Kishan, Thakur, and Pandey, Son of Sardaar 2 will also star Mukul Dev, Vindu Dhara Singh, Kubbra Sait, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Sharat Saxena, Roshni Walia, and Ashwini Kalsekar.

Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Mrunal Thakur, will hit cinema halls on July 25, 2025.
