Retro Box Office Collection Day 7: Suriya's latest action drama ‘Retro’ is approaching the ₹50 crore mark in India after completing its first week in theatres. Despite experiencing a substantial decline in daily collections, the film has already achieved a significant milestone by crossing the ₹100 crore mark in worldwide box office receipts.
According to industry trackers, ‘Retro’ earned approximately ₹0.02 crore on its seventh day from morning shows. The total domestic earnings now stand at ₹48.92 crore, with the film likely to just reach the ₹50 crore threshold as final numbers are tabulated.
The occupancy rates reveal the film's diminishing theatrical performance, with Tamil screenings recording an overall 17.58% occupancy on Tuesday, while the Telugu version managed only 12.11% occupancy on the same day.

The film's complete week-long performance shows a clear pattern of initial enthusiasm followed by a sharp decline:
Despite the domestic slowdown, ‘Retro’ has performed remarkably in international markets. On Tuesday, the filmmakers announced that the movie has entered the coveted 100-crore club with global collections reaching ₹104 crore.
2D Entertainment, the production company, celebrated this achievement on X (formerly Twitter) with the post: "A 'ONE' hundred crore LOVE at the Box Office for #TheOne's show Book your tickets for #Retro Experience https://linktr.ee/RetroTheMovie #TheOneWon #RetroRunningSuccessfully #LoveLaughterWar"

The film features ‘Beast’ actress Pooja Hegde as the female lead, alongside Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nasser, and others in significant roles. The narrative follows ‘The Chosen One,’ a character adopted by a gangster who abandons his violent lifestyle to pursue a peaceful existence with his lover. However, fate eventually draws him back to his roots to fulfil a prophecy.
