pasoori nu remake satyaprem ki katha kiara advani

It seems like Bollywood films are done with composing authentic songs that could top charts. In the last decade, we have seen several remakes that we could have done without. Whether it is ‘Pasoori Nu’ in ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’ or ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’ in ‘Sooryavanshi’, why are Hindi film directors and producers after recreating new versions of already hit songs, not learning from the reactions of the audience on previous remakes.

Twitterati Not Impressed With 'Pasoori Nu

The older version of Pasoori Nu is a Pakistani track that was sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, and it was released by Coke Studio, known for producing soulful music. It ruled the hearts of music fans so much so people played it on the loop.

The newer version of Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan starrer has left Twitterati unimpressed. Here are some tweets you must read.

Aditya Saha tweeted, “While everyone is trolling the actors and producers for remaking the ‘Pasoori’ song, let’s also not forget that it was Coke Studio and Ali Sethi, who sold the rights to T-Series in the first place. They should be equally criticised.”

Umair Sandhu commented that T-Series and Bhushan Kumar are done destroying all Indian songs and now have moved on to Pakistani songs.

Sushmita Dey shared the video of the original version and wrote, “Just dropping it here so all of us can revisit the original gem Pasoori..”

Here is a new version sung by Arijit Singh, you must check it out.

5 Other Song Remakes We Could Have Done Without

‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’ In ‘Sooryavanshi’

‘Sooryavanshi’, starring Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar, featured a remake of ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’, which originally was choreographed by Raveena Tandon. Though filmmaker Farah Khan revealed that Tandon liked the song, fans were unimpressed. They felt it was unnecessary to recreate an iconic song.

‘Aankh Marey’ In ‘Simmba’

Another song that needed no recreation was ‘Aankh Marey’ in Simmba. Though the upbeats of the new version slowly picked up with the audience, the original song from ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ was quite popular. If you watch the new video, Karan Johar enters at the start and says, “Oh God! One more remake.”

‘Jedha Nasha’ In ‘An Action Hero’

The original version of ‘Jedha Nasha was famous and loved by the audience, and it needed no recreation with Nora Fatehi in ‘An Action Hero’. Why remake something that exists in its perfect form?

‘Ole Ole’ In ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’

In both versions, ‘Ole Ole’ stars Saif Ali Khan. However, in Jawaani Jaaneman a few lyrics and beats were changed to suit the ambience of a disco. We already had Khan playing Casinova in the first one, we did have to see him in the avatar decades apart.

‘Hawa Hawai’ In ‘Shaitaan’ And ‘Tumhari Sulu’

Originally starring Sridevi, ‘Hawa Hawai’ is a popular song from ‘Mr. India’. It was recreated in ‘Shaitaan’ and again in ‘Tumhari Sulu’. Sridevi’s performance already had our hearts, and we did not need these two versions to distort it.
