About ‘NEEK’
The film revolves around Prabhu (Pavish Narayan), a culinary student, and Nila (Anikha Surendhan), who meet at a party and instantly connect. Their journey is filled with charming ‘meet-cute’ moments, eventually blossoming into a beautiful romance. However, just as everything seems to be falling into place, an unexpected family crisis forces them to part ways. As time passes, life takes them on separate paths—until Prabhu decides to attend Nila’s wedding, setting the stage for an emotional whirlwind of surprises and heartfelt moments.
‘NEEK’ Twitter Review
Viewers felt that the ‘Raayan’ actor delivered an enjoyable rom-com after ‘Pa Paandi,’ effectively capturing Gen Z relationships, breakups, and rebounds. While some found the first half a bit slow, they appreciated the engaging second half. Pavish Narayan impressed as Prabhu, while Mathew Thomas stole the show with his comic timing.
Despite limited screen time, Indhuja and Priya Prakash Varrier received praise for their performances. Many also lauded GV Prakash’s music, saying it added charm to the film. One social media user shared on X, “A clean teen rom-com with a fun and relatable story. Dhanush keeps it simple, avoiding unnecessary complications with his lighthearted narration. Mathew Thomas is outstanding with his one-liners and is easily the crowd favourite."
Several other viewers hailed Dhanush’s directorial venture as another success, calling it a fun rom-com with an engaging screenplay, even if the story felt familiar. Many particularly enjoyed the climax, finding it highly entertaining. Pavish Narayan’s performance reminded them of a young Dhanush, while Mathew Thomas kept the audience hooked. Anikha, Rabiya, Ramya, Venkatesh Menon, and Siddharth Shankar also delivered strong performances. GV Prakash’s music earned appreciation for elevating the film’s overall appeal.
Another review highlighted, "A classy and free-flowing first half with good fun. A completely different side of Dhanush as a director post-Raayan—he portrays a middle-class guy falling for a high-society girl. Great production value, music, and Mathew Thomas’ hilarious one-liners."
