The National Film Awards 2024 are set to honour the finest talents in Indian cinema, celebrating exceptional films and performances from the past year. Scheduled for October 8, 2024, the 70th National Film Awards ceremony will take place at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, promising a grand celebration of cinematic excellence.
The winners of this prestigious award were announced in August, showcasing a diverse array of talent. KGF Chapter 2 claimed the title of Best Kannada Film and also won Best Action Direction. Meanwhile, actor Rishab Shetty received the Best Actor in a Leading Role award for his performance in Kantara.
Additionally, Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, featuring stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, won multiple awards, including Best Male Playback Singer for Arijit Singh and accolades for its animation and VFX.
A significant highlight of the ceremony will be the tribute to veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who will receive the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his lifetime contributions to Indian cinema. This award is one of the highest honours in the industry, recognising individuals who have made remarkable impacts throughout their careers.
