Now, rumours swirl about the inclusion of another Bollywood heavyweight, Madhuri Dixit Nene.
Director Anees Bazmee Hints at More Cast Additions
While an official confirmation remains elusive, director Anees Bazmee has fueled the speculation. According to The Hindustan Times, Bazmee offered a cryptic response: "Whatever is going to happen, we will announce. Triptii and Vidya were announced, there are many more left. Some are being signed, with some talks are still on. We will announce it soon."
Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan: A Potential On-Screen First?
Adding to the intrigue, a source reportedly spoke to Mid-Day, claiming, "The team felt another spirit would add to the narrative. So, it will be Rooh Baba versus the two ghosts played by Madhuri and Vidya. By bringing the two leading ladies together for the first time on screen, the makers have played a trump card."
This potential casting coup would mark the first on-screen collaboration between Madhuri Dixit (5 Lesser Known Facts About The Eternal Diva) and Vidya Balan, two of Indian cinema's most celebrated actresses.
Meanwhile, fans can lay to rest any hopes of seeing Akshay Kumar reprise his role. Speaking to Zoom, Bazmee confirmed, "No, Akshay is not a part of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’ I am dying to work with him, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to script a film where we could work together. In future, certainly yes."

Despite a recent leg surgery that requires him to use a wheelchair, Bazmee remains dedicated to keeping the production on track. He shared, "I have a broken leg. After my surgery, the shoot was planned to start very soon, it was not looking possible. But when I am shooting, the pain is less. I have learnt how to operate it, so I do it soon and go around the set. We are shooting in Mumbai. I have two people to help me when I need to climb somewhere or get down."
