Tom Hardy starrer ‘Havoc’ landed on Netflix yesterday and the fans are eager to see the action thriller. But is it worth binge-watching or better left unseen? Let's dive in and see if it is worth your streaming time as we explore a critical review of the film.
‘Havoc’ features some of the amazing stars including Tom Hardy, Jessie Mei Li, Timothy Olyphant, Forest Whitaker, Michelle Waterson-Gomez, Quelin Sepulveda, Justin Cornwell, and Luis Guzmán.
The film follows a bit of a complex storyline, weaving together themes of corruption, power struggles, and personal vendettas. Hardy's character, a determined and brooding figure, is shown to navigate a treacherous landscape, however, the plot's predictability left me feeling underwhelmed.
While the film certainly has potential, there are several areas where changes could have elevated the film to the must-watch status.
Some drawn out scenes throughout the film like the ending and the shootout scene disrupted its pace and momentum which could have been avoided by streamlining the narrative, ultimately bringing the viewers a more engaging viewing experience.

While Hardy’s character in the film is shown to be deep and complex, those of antagonists lack that stature and feel one-dimensional, bringing down the tension and conflict. The villains felt more like cartoon figures rather than fully fleshed-out characters which could have been improved by adding more layers to these characters.
The missing consequences of failure and predictable plot twists definitely took away the surprise and impact, giving it a muted feel. Additionally, there was little-to-no tension and urgency which would make the plot more compelling and invested, and increased the film’s overall emotional resonance. ‘Havoc’s’ conclusion is no differently disappointing than the rest of it, being somewhat abrupt with some loose ends.
Should you watch it? A big yes if you are a fan of Tom Hardy's performances, gripping thrillers with complex characters, and intense action sequences. However, Hardy’s performance might be the only major highlight of the film. Falling short of being a masterpiece, ‘Havoc’ is still a thought-provoking thriller with potential.
