Out of the top 200 highest-grossing opening weekends at the domestic box office, as reported by Box Office Mojo, only 11 films were directed by women. Among these 11 films, three had male co-directors, including Captain Marvel, Frozen II, and Brave. The remaining seven were solely directed by women, with ‘The Matrix Reloaded’ being co-directed by the Wachowski sisters.
