Who Is Sara Arjun's Character Yalina Jamali Inspired From?

The character of Yalina Jamali played a pivotal role in both of the ‘Dhurandhar’ movies. Actress Sara Arjun had stepped in to portray this role and delivered an outstanding performance. Characters of the ‘Dhurandhar’ universe, like SP Choudhary Aslam and Ajay Sanyal, are inspired by real people. Many started wondering if Yalina’s character is inspired by someone. According to several media reports, it is allegedly being said that Yalina’s role takes inspiration from the story of  Maheen Gabol. Maheen was the daughter of a Pakistani politician, Nabil Gabol, who was reportedly involved with one member of Uzair Baloch’s gang. Reports claimed that after Nabil got to know about Maheen’s love story, he sent his daughter away to Kuwait. 

The parallels between Maheenb’s story and Yalina’s character are very similar, making fans speculate this theory. Unlike the movie, which left us with an open ending on Yalina’s story after Hamza’s return, Maheen got married. According to media reports, Maheen, interestingly, got married to Maula Bux Soomro, the grandson of the late Ellahi Bux Soomro on December 5, 2025.

Sara Arjun As Yalina Jamali In ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ 

In ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’, the role of Yalina Jamali was portrayed by actress Sara Arjun. Yalina’s character was the daughter of politician Jameel Jamali. We see her fall in love with Hamza in the first movie, and the two even get married to each other. In the sequel, we see Yalina and Hamza welcoming a baby boy into their family, and they name him Zayan.

It is yet to be confirmed by Maheen herself about Yalina’s character taking inspiration from her life, but Aditya Dhar did mention that this movie is fictional.
