Empowering Cancer Warriors: Meet Canfem CEO Akriti Gupta, Establishing A Better Quality Of Life For Cancer Patients

While going through cancer treatment can be life-altering, getting back to your normal self is even gruelling. Akriti Gupta, founder of Canfem is working in the quest to establish a better quality of life for cancer warriors to help them get back to society and live to their fullest. Recently honoured with the prestigious Editor`s Choice Woman Rising Star Of The Year award at the Womenpreneur Awards 2024, Akriti brings various products and services, specially tailored for cancer survivors giving them the best comfort and style.

Inspiration

“Cancer cannot touch our lives if we do not let it change us.” That is what Akriti learned from her father during his cancer treatment. By engaging with other cancer patients for her Not For Profit organisation, Win Over Cancer was started. While working for the initiative, Akriti realised that everyone is working hard to make a cancer patient a survivor but hardly anyone is helping them to live their life with dignity. That's how she came up with the vision of ‘Canfem’ to enable cancer patients to have a dignified life, with and after cancer.

Overcoming Hurdles

While talking to HerZindagi, Akriti discussed the significant hurdles she faced on her entrepreneurial path. “I started Canfem during COVID in 2020 when the entire healthcare system was so overwhelmed. Well, it came as a challenge in itself.” But with the aim to dignify treatment for cancer patients, Akriti used this challenge to her advantage by innovating and taking the support of technology.
