During pregnancy, women tend to face mood swings, fatigue, cramps and sickness, and all this can easily be combatted with the help of yoga. Yoga not only relaxes your mind or gives you a perfect figure, but it also has other benefits for pregnant women that we don't know about. Sarvesh Shashi, Founder & CEO at SARVA - Yoga, Mindfulness and Beyond, told HerZindagi that these yoga exercises give the expecting mom mental strength to enter motherhood and the numerous responsibilities that come along with it. Prenatal Yoga does the most incredible thing, it helps you to have a normal delivery, allows you to establish a bond and connection with your unborn child. Heightened awareness enables you to connect with your breath, creating a union between mind, body, and soul with the one growing within.

Butterfly Pose

Butterfly pose aka Bhadrasana helps in relieving fatigue from the inner thighs and legs. This asana requires you to sit straight and fold your legs in such a way that they look like wings of a butterfly. Place your hands on knees and take deep breaths. Hold the posture till the time you feel comfortable and then come back to normal position.

Mountain Pose

Mountain pose helps in stretching the hips, hamstring and groin muscles. It helps in relieving stress and backache. This yoga pose also helps in improving digestion during pregnancy. Sit straight on the mat with crossed legs. Raise your arms and join your palms in namaste position. Hold the position as long as you can and then relax.

Chair Pose

Chair pose, also known as Utkatasana, will strengthen your lower back, torso and will stretch your spine and hips muscles. Stand straight with your feet slightly apart, and then stretch your arms up. Inhale and bend your knees, and pose like you are sitting on a chair. Hold it for few seconds then relax.

Twisted Pose

The twisted pose is very beneficial for getting rid of constipation and it also gives relief from any strain or stiffness in the back. Sit straight with feet spread in front, then inhale and raise your arms at shoulder level. Slowly exhale while you twist your body from waist towards your right moving head and hands together to the same side. Swing arms back as much as possible. Inhale and come back to the original position.

Angle Pose

Angle pose, also known as konasana, adds strength to the spinal cord, arms, legs and also to the sides of your body. It will also give you relief from sciatica pain and constipation. Stand straight with your feet slightly apart, and then stretch your arms up and bend towards your left. Exhale and come back to your normal position.
