Dr Batra said, "Chronic Diabetes is an ongoing condition in which the body is unable to regulate blood sugar levels effectively. It occurs when the body is unable to produce enough insulin or is unable to utilise it efficiently. Insulin facilitates the transport of sugar from the bloodstream into the cells to provide energy. India, widely referred to as the Diabetes capital of the world, has around 61 million people with diabetes, anticipated to rise to 100 million by 2030."

Type 1 Diabetes

Itis an Autoimmune disease that disturbs the immune system and insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Theinitial symptoms of this type of diabetes include utmost thirst, repeated urination, weight loss, and fatigue.To support overall health, regular exercise, maintaining a good diet, managing stress, and omega-3s, a low-glycemic diet can help in holistic healing.

Type 2 Diabetes

This chronic condition occurs when the body becomes insulin resistant. The causes can include genetics, poor diet, obesity, and inertia.
