It's normal and common to experience some gas after eating and releasing it through belching or flatulence. But if you are experiencing painful gas, then it is something to you need to pay attention to using these steps:

Avoid Food That Causes Gas

Cut down on the number of apples and pears you gorge on, take few pieces of broccoli, brusselssprouts and onions. Don't overeat cheese and ice cream. Why? Because all these contain fibre, sugar and starch that take time to digest and absorb, causing intestinal gas. Some people are even bothered by carbonated soft drinks and fruit drinks. Also, there are certain food combinations which are a recipe to disaster like when you eat fruits with proteinsit is a problem, or when you eat starchesand proteins together, you have had it.

The best way to go about it is, that you eliminate the food that gave you the problem, completely from your diet.

Drink Before Meals

If you drink liquids with your meals, you lose stomach acids and make it difficult for the food to break down. Drink half an hour before your meal is what is recommended by all. It aids your digestive system.

Eat & Drink Slowly

There is no rush to gulp down your food. When you eat fast, you can swallowa lot of air which causes gas. If the people on yur table are fast eaters, it is their problem. You have slow down your eating space for sure.

Try Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal can help reduce and treat excess gas and bloating. It is not like the charcoal you find in your grill or fireplace as activated charcoal is treated in a specific way which makes it safe for human consumption. Once you take activated charcoal in the form of liquid or pill, it attaches to fluid in your gut, and reduces gas and bloating, creating firmer stools.

Don't Fill Up on Air

You have to quit smoking, chewing gum all the time and drinking through a straw, as it may cause your stomach to fill with air, leading to gas.

Avoid Artificial Sweeteners

Sorbitol and related sugar alcohols used in many sugar-free versions of foods can aggravate gas. It is best that you either take regular sugar, substitute honey and jaggery wherever you can and quit eating a lot of sugar anyway.

Too Much Chilli

If you chomp on a lot of spicy food or love taking chillies with your meal, you are asking for flatulence for sure. It may lead to bloating as well. Lower down the spices and watch the change.
