Drinking juice is a simple and effective way to infuse your diet with essential nutrients. Many people start their day with a glass of fresh juice, whether it’s the trendy green juice or the traditional orange juice. In the diverse wellness landscape, ABC juice has become a standout, offering a unique blend of health benefits that many other drinks can't compete with. We spoke with Lena Bakovic, a seasoned Registered Dietitian Nutritionistwith over eight years of experience via Top Nutrition Coaching, who shared the various advantages of incorporating ABC juice into your diet.
What Is ABC Juice?
Lena explained that ABC juice, which combines raw apples, beetroots, and carrots, is a highly nutritious drink. It provides essential nutrients like fibre, antioxidants, and a range of micronutrients, including Potassium, Zinc, and Iron. Here's what each component brings to the table:
Apple: Apples are rich in fibre, vitamin C, potassium, and vitamin E, among other nutrients. They support digestive health, heart health, and weight management.
Beetroot: Beetroots are packed with nutrients while being low in calories. They provide folate, fibre, vitamin C, potassium, iron, and protein.
Carrot: Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A, crucial for eye health. They also contain potassium, vitamin B6, biotin, fibre, and vitamin K.
Benefits Of ABC Juice
Lena mentioned that ABC juice is typically low in calories, making it an attractive option for those managing their weight. Its fibre content is particularly advantageous for gut and digestive health, aiding in digestion and overall gut function. The juice’s iron content can be beneficial for people with iron deficiency anaemia, potentially helping to replenish iron levels.
Additionally, the antioxidants in ABC juice may help neutralise harmful free radicals, which, if excessive, can lead to chronic conditions like cancer and cardiovascular disease. While the juice’s rich nutrient profile might support immune function, there is currently no strong scientific evidence to support this claim. Similarly, the suggestion that ABC juice enhances metabolic rate and function lacks robust clinical trial support.
