As per Ayurveda, mixing cooked and raw foods together makes the digestion process complicated. It is easy for our digestive tract to break down cooked food, as the enzymes become activated. Therefore, the rate of breaking cooked and raw foods down differs significantly. Ayurveda suggests that raw and cooked foods should be eaten separately.

Eating on time has great significance for a healthy body. You must make a routine of consuming lunch, breakfast and dinner all at the same time each and every day. This will allow the body to have a rhythm and will further prevent your digestive system from getting exhausted.
Besides consuming wholesome food, eating a proper amount is also vital. If you eat more then your body’s requirement, you will end up disturbing your digestion cycle. You must only eat as much as your body needs and can break down easily. This also allows you to save energy that gets wasted on breaking down extra food you unnecessarily put in your system.

Your goodnight sleep is very important for sound mind and body, but if your food is not digested before hitting the bed, you might not be able to sleep comfortably. Eat two hours before sleeping to avoid indigestion (drinks to soothe indigestion). If you sleep after your food is digested, you will light and energetic the next morning.
