Despite so much expert information available on the internet, people still become very clueless when it comes to fitness. What’s worse, they end up believing whatever they are told and also form notions about fitness which have no scientific explanation. Check out these common myths surrounding fitness and why you should never take them as facts.
Yoga Is For Rest Days
Yoga does not need you to jump around but it still requires exertion of the body so do not plan your workout routine in such a way that you replace the rest days with yoga days. Rest days are rest days. Period.
No Pain, No Gain
If someone told you that losing calories, reducing inches from your body and becoming fitter requires you to do strenuous exercise that make you cry with sore muscles then they are so wrong! Muscle building can happen even with light exercises that do not hurt so much that you are put off exercising.

Measuring Everyday Keeps You Focussed
Checking your weight every now and then? Chances are you will get more upset with the numbers. Leading exercise science expert Rujuta Diwekar humorously put this fact out there with her tweet which basically told people to keep the weighing scale out of the bathroom to stay happy! Check out her tweet:

In her book Don’t Lose Out, Work Out she also mentions that group classes may not be doing you much favour as they don’t focus on an individual, how doing cardio on an empty stomach isn’t all that good for you and how your typical Zumba classes are really a joke!
Morning Workouts Rule
No. You don’t have to drag yourself out of the bed every morning to workout. Do it when you feel that your energy levels are high and that could be in the evening as well. There are advantages of morning, afternoon and evening workouts – you just take up whatever suits your body.
