Kolkata based Indian fashion designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee needs no introduction. He is a favourite among brides-to-be. He is the go-to couturier of many Bollywood divas too. A lot of celebs from the showbiz have worn creations by the designer for their wedding day.
Recently, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal for their intimate wedding in Sawai Madhopur opted for outfits by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. With her wedding look, Katrina Kaif joined the list of divas who carried a traditional red on their D-day.
Katrina Kaif's Matka Silk Lehenga
For her day wedding with Vicky Kaushal in Sawai Madhopur, Katrina Kaif wore a handwoven matka silk lehenga from Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Her lehenga had file tilla work and zardosi borders. Her veil had custom trimmed handmade kiran.
Patralekhaa's Red Tulle Saree
Patralekhaa took the classic route for her day wedding. She wore a a red tulle embroidered buti sari paired with an embroidered veil, that is inscribed with a Bengali verse. The verse was penned by the designer himself for the couple to make their D-day even more special.
The verse read, “Aamar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomaye shomorpon korilam.” The verse translates to, “I give to you my soul filled with love.”
Her look was accessorised with handcrafted Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery in 22k gold with uncut diamonds, pearls and emeralds.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas
For PeeCee's Hindu wedding at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Sabyasachi Mukherjee curated a custom lehenga which came with a half-sleeved blouse and a ballgown esque skirt. The lehenga had a beautiful amalgam of French knots in silk floss, threadwork, hand-cut organza flowers. Her wedding look was completed with a long veil.
Priyanka Chopra's wedding look was completed with traditional jewellery, a pear-shaped diamond set, matching earrings, red chooda, haath phool, maang tikka.

Deepika Padukone
Its been 3 years since Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding and we still have the memories fresh on our minds. Deepika Padukone dressed in a gorgeous Sabyasachi gharara set with golden tilla details and a heavy border dupatta. The dupatta read, ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava’ in Devnagri. The saying translates to 'may you forever be married'.
Her look was rounded off with jadau jhumkas, a nath, statement maang tika, golden kalire.
Bipasha Basu
Bipasha Basu always wanted to be a Sabyasachi red bride. Sabyasachi Mukherjee shared his experience of dressing Bipasha Basu on her D-day on Instagram. He wrote, , "To add to that, we are both Bengalis. And she was very sure she wanted to be a Bengali bride in 'Sabyasachi Red.' (Bipasha) did all us Bengalis proud. She wore Chandan and a shola mukut, she covered her face with betel leaf. This is what I love about Indian weddings. As a bride, on the day of your wedding you always come home."
Bipasha Basu was a show stealer at her wedding in a traditional red and gold bridal ensemble by the designer. The outfit had heavy zari work all over. Her look was completed with heavy kundan jewellery.

Vidya Balan
For her intimate wedding celebrations, Vidya Balan opted for a classic Benarasi saree from the house of Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She carried it with temple jewellery - layered necklaces, matching earrings and a traditional red choora.
Though her simple, elegant wedding look was much appreciated, many don't know that Vidya Balan doesn't wear Sabyasachi Mukherjee anymore. A few years ago, when Vidya Balan walked the red carpet in his creation, she received a lot of backlash for her outfit. Post that, she was never seen wearing his outfits.
In an interview with Spotyboye, she cleared why she no longer wears the designer. She said, “I think Sabyasachi is one of the most talented designers in the country. I have worn him a lot but post Cannes (pauses)... I don’t know if I can call it a fallout, but we have not been in touch. Not that anything has happened, but... it’s unfortunate.”
