If you are getting married soon or recently tied the knot, we are here to help all the brides with a simple yet gorgeous makeup routine that will enhance your look. Check out the expert tips from Sarrah Mukadam, Celebrity Make-Up Artist, along with product recommendations that we tried and tested, in this article.
Subtle Makeup Routine For New Brides
Mukadam said, “First of all, the brides need to hydrate themselves by adding hydrating fruits, water, and drinks into their diet. Along with this, they need to maintain a proper skincare routine for morning and night at least for 2-3 months.”
“Eyes can make or break your look, so, I suggest that you go for either a neutral or a shimmery palette depending on your look and aesthetics. Make sure you apply the mascara properly and smudge it well to complete the eye makeup, you can also go for lash extensions if that’s your thing,” she shared.
Sarrah explained, “For your face, you can start the prep with a nice moisturiser that you know works for you and then move on to skin tint, colour corrector or a peach/orange toned lipstick, and concealer, depending on your skin conditions and texture. Apply the foundation to complete the base and then apply the blush or a jelly tint in your favourite shade. Use a light compact powder to lock the base in. Next step is applying the bronzer and a little bit of highlighter powder. Now, your brows, I feel, are very important to your whole look. If you have quite good, thick brows, just brush them well and fill them in with dark-brown brow pencil or eyeshadow. I advise not to use black pencil or shadow on the brows, that’s a big no-no for me. Smoothen them out and don’t make them stuck. Then comes your lips, you can go for plumpy lips or nude shades, again, depending on the look or aesthetics you are going for.”
Makeup Product Recommendations For New Brides: HZ Tried & Tested
For eyeshadow palettes, I recently used the ones from House Of Makeup and Hilary Rhoda which give you a wide variety of options and blend in very well. The two mascaras I highly recommend are Mary Jo K’s Rizz & Roll and Mattlook’s Big Eyes Long Lasting. If you want to go for a very thin and sleek eyeliner, you can try Mary Jo K’s HD smudge proof eyeliner and if you want an absolutely matte look, Mattlook’s Winked Waterproof Matte eyeliner is the one to go for.

For foundations, I tried House Of Makeup’s luminous skin tint and MyGlamm’s Super Serum BB Cream, both of which now own a permanent spot in my routine! I loved the concealer and colour corrector from House Of Makeup, given that I have a sensitive skin and this didn’t give me any damage, I’m just sticking to them but you can try other options based on your needs. Now, blush! I loved my experience with the Blush Love from Hilary Rhoda, the Sunkisser range from Maybelline, and one from the face palette by Mars.
