Karwa Chauth 2022: How To Revamp Your Wedding Lehenga For The Festival

Your bridal lehenga is not just a random outfit but has a sentimental importance. Usually, people prefer to wear their wedding lehenga for their first Karwa Chauth as it is an important festival for married Hindu women in Northern India. If you don’t want to repeat your lehenga, then here is a way to revamp it, thus giving it a whole new look.

Create A Contrast

Usually bridal lehengas are monotonic which means in the same colour from head to toe. Therefore, if you want to create a different look, then you can create a contrast by adding a different colour. You can either go for a different coloured blouse or a different coloured dupatta.

Swap The Blouse

Bridal lehengas are usually heavily embellished but you might not need it to be that over the top for Karwa Chauth. You can go for a sleeveless blouse with minimal embellishments instead. If you are not comfortable with a sleeveless blouse, then either go for shoulder length sleeves or full-sleeves. However, make sure to add a trendy element to your blouse such as ruffles, puff sleeves, etc.

Light Blouse

To tone down your outfit a bit, you can swap your heavy dupatta for a lighter one. Usually, bridal lehenga comes with two dupattas – one to drape and the other one to use as a veil. So, you can also eliminate the draping dupatta and use the veil as a dupatta as it is light-weight with minimum embellishments.

Draping Style

If you want to keep all the pieces of your lehenga intact, then opt for a different draping style for your dupatta. Just the way of styling can change your whole look. You can experiment with different styles and choose the one you like the most.

Belts with ethnic outfits to tuck your dupattas are quite trending right now. You can get a metallic belt or get a belt stitched in the same fabric. Neatly drape your dupatta and tuck it in the belt. This will give you an elegant and trendy look.
