Ashish N Soni gives us his top picks from his latest ‘Retro Orchard’ collection for all the ladies saying, “The dresses, trench coats, statement broad shoulders and the diea of men’s fabrics for women are big for this festive and holiday season for the lovely ladies.”
He further adds, “The biggest change that I had was the emphasis on the shoulders, one could see the dresses, trenches, coats having structured almost men’s shoulders on women which is not easy to do because there is a lot of construction that goes into it. I had put in a lot of effort there and then what I primarily did was use men’s fabrics for women which is also a big thing from the 1970s because until then women were sort of not allowed to wear trousers. So the sort of freedom and empowerment happened in the 1970s when they started wearing men’s suits and started dressing like men. Therefore, I borrowed the idea of using men’s fabrics for women.”
Ashish N Soni’s Festive Season Staples From His ‘Retro Orchard’ Line:
The A-list designer mentioned, “the only bits relevant for the festive season would be the tailored suits for the festive season.”

Nainika Karan, the designer who is one poignant half of the Gauri and Nainika duo let us in on her top picks for the festive season from her collection saying, “I think for the festive season we have a lot of nice skirts from the show, and people can mix and match them the way they want to. So, you can wear them with a formal top and some jewellery and actually wear these big skirts with a blouse, or a shirt, or a simple turtleneck and glamourise the whole look with a necklace or some earrings. I think that is a very distinct and different look that we have in the show that could give you an Indo-western sort of look.”
So we pretty much have you sartorially covered courtesy leading designers with the biggest trends and forecasts to dress up like the star that you are for the festive season 2023.
