Wedding fashion trends change every year posing an anticipation among the brides-to-be to keep up with the trends. As we are approaching winter wedding season in India, we spoke to Pooja Choudhary, Founder of Lavanya The Label to understand the 2024 bridal trends. Dive in to know what’s in and what’s out from the wedding fashion trends for 2024.

What’s In For 2024 Bridal Fashion

The 2024 bridal fashion trend is all about embracing bold shades and prints. Brides are opting for soft lavender, blush pink, and deep jewel tones. Additionally, traditional shades are also going to be chosen by brides. Floral prints and Abstract designs are going to make a comeback in the bridal fashion industry.

Apart from the shades, sustainable fabrics like organic cotton, bamboo silk, and recycled materials are also going to be in trend. Recently, bollywood actresses such as Sonakshi Sinha and Yami Gautam have opted to upcycle their mother’s wedding saree for their big day.

From traditional banarasi patterns to mix-and-match patterns, brides (bridal beauty tips) are expected to embrace traditional embroideries in a new way. For instance, brides can pair plain tops or embroidered jackets with embellished skirts for their pre-wedding ceremonies like Haldi and Mehendi.

Dramatic sleeves such as puff, bishop, or bell-shaped are going to dominate bridal runways at their best. Vintage touches such as delicate lace, Victorian-era corsets, and accessories inspired by heirlooms are going to make a comeback for a timeless bride's charm.

What's Out From 2024 Bridal Fashion

Comfort is going to be the first preference for the 2024 brides and thus overly structured attires are a big ‘No’ for the season.

Rather than going for a bright and sparkly look, brides are choosing traditional ones like a bit of shimmer and more embroidery detailing like chikankari work. Recently, Sonakshi Sinha styled her mother’s vintage saree that features chikankari embroidery.

For Christian brides, the traditional veil style is getting replaced by shorter, simpler ones like birdcage veils or unique hair accessories.

Pooja Choudhary said, “The 2024 wedding season is all about expressing individual and bold choices in bridal fashion. Brides are opting for more sustainable fabrics, vintage allure, or statement sleeves, choosing trends and customising styles that match their fashion style to make their wedding day more special.”
