Alia became the hero or should we rather say shero for a lot of women when she donned her Gangubai avatar. The look was simple, ‘Gangu wala safed’ (meaning white as worn by Gangubai in Hindi). This was perfectly expressed by the actor in a dialogue from the movie and it was what she wore during the entire movie. White sarees, signature red bindi, crimson hued rose in her hair, kohl laden eyes, red lips, and statement retro style sunglasses defined Alia's fashion game as she essayed the role.

Alia was seen playing the role of Sehmat in the Dharma Production’s, ‘Raazi’. Here she went from being a young university student to a new bride and a spy for the country in times of the war.
Her look in the movie was kept minimal with fresh no makeup yet lots of skincare, minimal vintage style gold jewellery, traditional Kashmiri style salwar kameez, Indian handcrafted sarees and more. In a pivotal scene during the movie that showed a marriage ceremony, the actor donned the look of the perfect on trend minimal bride draped in a blue and pink hued saree and the look was completed perfectly with a veil over her head and mehendi on her palms. The vintage gold jewellery including a minimal necklace, a long gold chain and signature chandbali jhumkas did all the magic. Her makeup was kept minimal with kohl filled eyes and a maroon colour that stood out on the lips.
