Republic Day is a national holiday in India, celebrated on January 26th each year with immense joy and enthusiasm. It marks the adoption of India’s Constitution in 1950, symbolizing the country’s transition from a British colony to a sovereign republic. The day is filled with patriotic fervor, featuring parades, cultural programs, and flag-hoisting ceremonies in schools and government offices.

5. Sabarmati Ashram, Gujarat
Mahatma Gandhi lived in the Sabarmati Ashram located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, for more than a decade (1917–1930), before moving to the Sevagram Ashram. It served as a test ground for his social experiments as well. He established a tertiary school here with an emphasis on manual labour, agriculture, and literacy in order to achieve national self-sufficiency. As part of the Salt Satyagraha, Mahatma Gandhi began his Dandi March from the ashram on March 12, 1930. The people kept this ashram clean when Gandhi moved to Sevagram Ashram. A significant part of the ashram has been transformed into the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya today.
